Tribal Support – Rosebud Sioux, Minto Village

As the seasons shift and we all prepare for the challenges of winter, many communities will face obstacles that can threaten their access to education, safety, and basic resources. Through Pillars to Prosperity, we are proud to support initiatives that strengthen the foundations of these communities by promoting safe learning environments, and helping to build and protect essential infrastructure.

This quarter, Pillars to Prosperity partnered with the Rosebud Sioux Tribe to support expanded educational opportunities for local students, ensuring they have the tools they need to learn and succeed. Further, Pillars learned of a high school student who has been collecting resources to address a clothing shortage in her community, starting in the classroom, and has helped to ensure that no student goes without their basic needs.

Finally, we worked alongside the Minto Village community to fund electricity for their recreation center during the harsh winter months, helping ensure it can remain a safe, warm gathering space where neighbors can come together rather than endure the cold in isolation.

At Pillars to Prosperity, we are guided by our commitment to empowering families, expanding access to education, and strengthening community well-being. These Q3 charitable contributions reflect our ongoing dedication to building a brighter, more sustainable future for all, one initiative at a time.

Pillars to Prosperity + LAUSD (Emergency Relief Fund)

As fires have surged across the Los Angeles region, Angelenos have been faced with adversity in a number of ways including displacement, loss of property, loss of access to schools, and unimaginable traumas associated with the disruption caused by these sudden and unforgiving flames. In this difficult time Pillars to Prosperity proudly supports initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the areas of shelter, health, and education, and will assist in those efforts to the fullest extent.

We stand in support of the community members who are working to rebuild their lives, find new homes, and continue their education. This week, Pillars to Prosperity worked with the Los Angeles Unified School District Emergency Relief Fund to provide aid that will permit stipend disbursement, cover gaps that prevent access to educational materials, and offer support to those needing mental health services. The Los Angeles Unified School District’s coverage area spans over 700 square miles and represents many residents whose lives are forever changed as they confront this new reality.

As fellow Angelenos and true believers in the resilience of our community, Pillars to Prosperity hopes this contribution will aid in us all becoming stronger as we work, live, and learn in this beautiful city.

Season of Thanks

As we embrace the spirit of gratitude this season, Pillars to Prosperity is honored to give back to some very deserving and important initiatives. In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, we are proud to announce two special donations to organizations making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Pursuant to its three Pillars, which emphasize health, education, and shelter, Pillars has identified the Benhti Economic Development Corporation (“BEDCO”) and the Los Angeles Unified School District as its spotlight recipients.

Education, Health, and Shelter

BEDCO’s core mission aims to enhance and grow economic opportunities for its employees and its tribes, focusing on maintaining sustainable development. In alignment with these efforts, Pillars will provide support to ensure that community members are able to gather in the local Youth Center without concerns for heat. The center is a gathering place and a source of refuge when the local temperatures dip below -50. We are inspired by BEDCO’s story and look forward to hearing the stories shared by the members as they gather in the space.

Health and Education

The LAUSD, through its Education Foundation and Homeless Education Office (HEO), works tirelessly to support families that are experiencing homelessness. The office provides access to educational and social enrichment programs designed to increase access to academic and overall student success. We are thrilled to make a contribution to this important work as we believe that it will catalyze growth and success among the most at-risk youth and populations.

At Pillars to Prosperity, we are committed to uplifting our community, and this Season of Thanks is a reminder that together, we can make a lasting impact.

Stay tuned for more updates as we head into 2025!
